How do you define a "feature"? +

A “feature” typically refers to a distinct functionality or capability within a website or web application. Features can vary in complexity, ranging from simple enhancements like adding a contact form to more complex functionalities like building an entire e-commerce platform. Tempo will work with you to determine the complexity of tasks and determine how many features can be shipped during weekly or bi-weekly touch points.

Who are the engineers/designers? +

Tempo uses a combo of AI, in-house resources, and the top 1% of global freelance talent to design & build frontend features end-to-end. Our team leverages the tools developed by Tempo to optimize the development process. In addition, our product management team will work closely with your team to ensure that your vision is executed in the output of our products.

Why wouldn't I just hire full-time or freelance designers/engineers? +

Tempo doesn't just provide top-tier engineering and design talent at a fraction of the cost. Our streamlined workflow enables us to deliver results three times faster than in-house teams, all while costing less than a third of what you'd pay for freelancers or internal resources. Plus, if you're not satisfied with our service, you have the flexibility to pause or cancel your subscription at any time.

Do you exclusively code in React? +

Tempo is currently optimized on responsive React web apps at the moment but plan to add support for other frameworks in the future.

How does payment work? +

Billing is applied at the start of each month. If at any time you wish to cancel or pause your subscription, the second payment will be stopped. Should you feel that the product is not meeting your expectations in the first month, we will refund your subscription.

What tools do you use? +

The development process is streamlined on the Tempo platform, but we collaborate closely with you throughout product development. For daily operations, we commonly use Trello for resource planning and can seamlessly integrate with your existing Figma designs. These tools are not restrictive, and we’re happy to adapt to your workflow.

Do we need pre-existing designs or brand guidelines? +

In short, no. While our team provides design and development resources, we recommend clients stay actively involved in the design process. If you already have designs or brand guidelines, we can build on that foundation and enhance functionality where needed.
